He/him is a board-certified pediatrician and has been part of Western Wake Pediatrics since 2002. He received both his medical degree and pediatric specialty education from the UNC at Chapel Hill. Dr. Lopez is multilingual, including English, Spanish, and Tagalog (a Filipino dialect).
Dr. Lopez is a first generation Filipino American, born in Queens, NY. He spent half his childhood in New Jersey, and the rest in Puerto Rico, Switzerland, and Venezuela. Dr. Lopez received a B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University. Experiences prior to his medical education include preschool education, together with special education for children with autism, and work with children and adolescents at a psychiatric hospital. He teaches 3rd year medical students in his role as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the UNC School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Lopez lives in Raleigh with his wife Audrey Krenitsky (the architect who designed the Western Wake Pediatrics office) and his two children, Mila and Luka. In his free time, Dr. Lopez enjoys spending time with his family and friends, going to the beach, mountain biking, and participating in motorsports at VIR (Virginia International Raceway).
